The plan for Academic Networks of the University of Montenegro migration to IPv6 with application examples

The paper presents the migration plan to theIPv6 protocol in the Academic Network of the University of Montenegro with application examples in the IT Center and in the network of Faculty of electrical engineering. The application procedures, the plan of the recommended migration model from IPv4 to IPv6 and Dual Stack technology and their advantages are explained and discussed . The concept of segmentation of the new IPv6 address range and migration of public services to the new IP protocol is also presented.
